Learn about the importance of soil

The study of soil is a fine balance of chemistry, physics and biology - but that does not mean it belongs exclusively in the classroom or laboratory. Thanks to digital technologies, on-line learning and the emergence of citizen science, nowadays anyone with a smartphone and a spade can become expert in the soil beneath their feet – how to measure it, monitor and understand it - and from there how to manage, protect and improve it.

The following are some of the most accessible tools for understanding soil - developed for every audience and every need – farmer and physicist - primary school to PhD!
